The SECHC sends five teams to ACHA D3 Regionals

The Southeastern Collegiate Hockey Conference has four teams playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 3 South Regionals this weekend. The tournament begins on Friday, 19 February, at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den in Orlando, FL.

The University of Florida Gators finished 6th in the South rankings and will take on the 7th ranked Kennesaw State Owls at 11:30 am Friday morning.

The 5th ranked Vanderbilt Commodores will take on the 8th ranked Liberty Flames at 2 pm Friday afternoon.

The 2016 SECHC Champions, the Georgia Ice Dawgs, finished the year ranked 4th and will take on the 9th ranked Captains of Christopher Newport University at 4:30 pm.

The University South Carolina finished 11th in the rankings but will replace South Florida who declined their invitation to the regional tournament. The Gamecocks will take on the Knights of Central Florida at 7 pm Friday night.

The remaining middle seeds will play each other at noon on Saturday. The remaining highest seed will play the remaining lowest seed at 2:30. The winners of Saturday games will join Florida Gulf Coast and the University of Tampa in Grand Rapids, MI, 8-12 March.


Not to be left out, the D3 Arkansas Razorbacks finished 10th in the ACHA D3 Pacific rankings and will be playing 3rd ranked Marquette at 9 am at The Breslow Ice Center in Lincoln, NE.
